Well here we are, another new year. Another year of aspiring dreams, of promises kept, and promises broken. Another year of hope, and anguish. Another year of happiness, and ultimately sadness. But I say we need to lighten up this year. Enough of the insanity. We need to laugh and smile
again. That's why I'm hoping for more of this in this coming year.
I want to see more UFO's. More Bigfoot pics. More total nonsense.
But this last week was more of the same. Those fires in Colorado?
Just heartbreaking to watch. It was like watching the End of the World.
I'm not sure which is more terrifying, the Tornadoes in December or those insane wildfires. Both looked frightening to me. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people who lost their homes in that terrible fire.
This week also saw the passing of two iconic giants.
John Madden was Mr FOOTBALL. He was 85 and he left behind a legacy that will be with us for the ages. I'm old enough to remember him when he was the coach of the Oakland Raiders. I hated that team, but respected Madden. And of course his colorful commentary on ABC as he talked us through the plays of all the Big NFL games. He was every bit the character he projected himself to be. Hell I even bought my son Max the very first MADDEN 98 game.
He was bigger than life. Though he was not without his peculiar phobias.
John Madden refused to get on an airplane. It's true.
Big bad John Madden
was terrified of flying. So he had this tricked out Bus The MADDEN BUS that he would have to drive him to all the games he had to commentate on all across the country. Look, nobody likes flying, but to NEVER get on a plane? That's silly. The funny thing is, he's flying right now. High in the sky, soaring through heaven looking down at all of us. I wonder if his fear of flying is a problem in heaven? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
The other major icon to pass this last week was Betty White.
Just two weeks shy of her 100th Birthday. That's really a shame because she would have been a hoot on her 100th. She was a class act all the way. I watched her on SNL this past Saturday and she was hilarious. She had an uncanny talent of delivering funny lines and zingers. Betty White will be missed by the millions who followed her and loved her.
So this week's Blog needs explaining. Because I was late last week and the Blog was a recap of the Best of 2021, I decided to run the same pics as last week. Mostly because the waves really sucked this week. And there's just so many good photos that might have been missed. I did post a few new ones by Dina Crawford, but her best work is still in her gallery down in the photos section. Having said that, here's the new/old gallery that was not posted.

My annual RPOTW calendars have been selling like hotcakes. This year's calendar was a whole different concept than last years. I used one large empty wave pic and then sprinkled in the smaller action shots. Plus I wrote a caption for each month. After all, I am a writer of sorts.
Click on the image below to see a larger version of the calendar.
The Annual RPOTW Calendars Are Out. I'm asking $20 pr calendar. You can pick one of these up at CINNAMON RAINBOWS or email me ralph@adlantic.com and I'll set one aside for you.

NOW FOR SOME LOCAL AND NATIONAL NEWS
KSM Photoshop of the Week
If you're like me, you were surprised by Antonio Brown's naked exit from the game yesterday as the Bucs played The Jets. However, I was REALLY surprised to see Khaliddy there on the field too. How'd we miss that? Truth be told, there's nothing funny about mental illness. So while this is meant to make you smile, we should have some compassion for AB's behavior. But back to KSM. I personally think KSM is jealous of all the attention Antonio is getting. Sorry Khaliddy, you can't do the same. Keep your shirt on and get back in your cell.
And so my friends, please take advantage of this weekly photo shop of the mastermind who planned 9-11 and resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent civilians by KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed).
*Note to self -must pick up a case of used AB Jerseys at
Home Depot this week.
REST IN PEACE John Madden.
REST IN PEACE Betty White.

Yesterday- COVERT MISSION YMCA POOL 1970's.
(Below) This? This is something that was probably against the law back in the 70's. Emptying swimming pools without permission just to skate them. But that's exactly what we did. It took us slightly under a week to empty this pool. And once we did, none of us were really that talented enough to really skate it properly. But we had fun trying. The late Lester Eldridge is in this pic. He passed away in 2021. He was a great guitarist, bass, player, and a good friend. We all miss you Lester. Photo c/o Jeff Crawford.

I kept a daily Blog on my CATCH A WAVE FOR MOLLY surf campaign, when I surfed every single day for 365 consecutive days. Click on the Banner above to read entries of my daily journey. There's some really interesting and true experiences
that happened during that year. Some of which are to this day, unexplainable. Some are just mind blowing. But all true.
I started on July 26th, 2010 and ended on July 26th, 2011.
Some rainy Sunday, pour yourself a cup and go through the journal.
Pay close attention to the month of May in 2011. Read that month and let me know what you think of that. Be forewarned it will change you forever.
